How do the Brazen Altar of Burnt Offerings and the Laver in the Tabernacle courtyard picture the two rich benefits which flowed forth from Christ's side when He died for His Church?

    presence of God. When I think of all my sins that he can report, I tremble."

    "But have you also thought about One who has a more honored, intimate, and powerful position than Satan - One who is seated at God's right hand in His throne?" the other replied. "Satan cannot say much as long as our Savior is sitting there."

    What rich comforts may God's children experience from Christ's sitting at God's right hand?

Scripture not only speaks of Christ sitting at God's right hand, it also refers to Him standing there. "Standing" portrays serving and working.

Jesus stands at His Father's right hand. He works for His Church in heaven. He uses His position of honor, intimacy, and power to serve His people. He serves as His children's Prophet, Priest, and King. The following chart briefly reviews that which was taught more extensively in Chapter 10 regarding Christ's offices.

Office Serves
1. Prophet

By teaching His people God's truth and enlightening their minds to understanding through the applying work of His Spirit.

2. Priest

a. By presenting His own sacrifice to God for His Church

b. By praying for His children at God's right hand
c. By blessing His people with heavenly blessings

3. King

a. By gathering and delivering His Church from their enemies

b. By protecting and preserving His children in their state of grace
c. By ruling and governing His people according to His Word
